Homeowner satisfaction with a whole-house air conditioning system depends on proper system sizing. A properly sized air-conditioning system will keep temperatures and humidity in the conditioned space at comfortable levels despite high outdoor heat and humidity. Air conditioner cooling size typically is expressed in tons. One ton of cooling capacity equals removal of 12, British thermal units of heat per hour, an amount of heat that can melt a 1-ton block of ice in 24 hours. But there is a general guideline offered by the American Society of Home Inspectors that you can use to make a quick but rough estimate of the cooling capacity you will need, based on the square footage of your floor area.

HVAC Design Thumb Rules - [PDF Document]
Very often IT closets, computer and server rooms are overlooked when it comes to cooling and environment monitoring and yet they can experience rapid heat build-up. One of the biggest issues is deciding how to calculate the actual cooling requirements and then how best to deliver this into the relatively small and confined spaces. At the higher end of their temperature operating range, cooling fans must run far quicker to move the air volume over the CPU and associated electronics. Fans are mechanical devices with bearings that will wear out and require replacement. Electronics component life will also degrade at higher temperatures. This lower limit is recommended for any UPS systems used within the computing environment with valve regulated lead acid VRLA batteries. This ensures that the room is not too dry which can lead to a build up of static electricity and not too damp which can lead to condensation build-up on colder plastic and metal surfaces.

Cooling load calculation is one the most challenging yet mysterious things in the HVAC industry. Most engineers use a rule of thumb to size air conditioners but, what are the other so-called proper way to do cooling load calculations? Generally, most engineers perform cooling load calculations using the Rule of Thumb. Only a handful of engineers know how to calculate cooling load manually.

The HVAC industry describes the amount of conditioning homes need as heating and cooling loads also known as thermal loads. The load refers to the amount of work any system must do to keep the structure comfortable. Heating loads refer to the amount of heat energy required to be added to an area to maintain the temperature in an adequate range.

In my opinion, you are making a mistake. Let's talk about it. Write to me in PM, we will talk.
Sorry for interfering here recently.... But this topic is very close to my heart. I can help with the answer. Write me a PM.
In just a few hours we will dive into the new year, which will bring us much joy and happiness =)
I fully share your opinion. This is a great idea. I support you.
Bravo, great idea and timely
